A Photoelectric Sensor consists primarily of an Emitter for emitting light and a Receiver for receiving light. The photoelectric effect occurs when electrons are released after light is shone onto a metal. Photoelectric sensors use light and optics to detect object presence or distance. They provide an output based on object detection or distance criteria.
