STMicroelectronics ISM330DHCXTR is a high-performance 6 axis motion sensor integrating a 3D digital accelerometer and a 3D digital gyroscope, specially tailored for Industry 4.0 and advanced industrial applications. It delivers superior stability and robustness by incorporating both sensing elements on the same silicon die, manufactured with specialized micromachining techniques and CMOS technology for precise signal processing.

This sensor supports selectable full-scale acceleration ranges of ±2/±4/±8/±16 g, and a broad angular rate range from ±125 to ±4000 dps, meeting diverse application requirements. The device features SPI and I²C interfaces along with an auxiliary SPI serial interface for output of gyroscope and accelerometer data, enabling flexible integration with external systems. Embedded capabilities include a Machine Learning Core, programmable Finite State Machine, sensor hub, and smart FIFO memory with up to 9 kbytes capacity, all designed to support smart, low power sensor nodes with high accuracy and synchronization.

The ISM330DHCXTR operates efficiently over a wide operating temperature range from -40°C to +105°C and at supply voltages from 1.71 V to 3.6 V. It consumes a low 1.5 mA supply current, making it suitable for continuous industrial, manufacturing, and automation uses. The compact 14-lead VFLGA package (2.5 mm x 3 mm x 0.83 mm height) enables integration in space-constrained electronic devices.

Additional embedded smart features include tilt detection, free-fall, wakeup, 6D/4D orientation detection, click and double-click recognition, as well as an embedded pedometer and step detector geared for healthcare-related sensing applications. The sensor module complies with RoHS, GREEN, and ECOPACK standards reflecting environmental responsibility.
