PR Electronics 5335A Temperature Transmitter is a high-accuracy programmable transmitter designed to convert various temperature sensor inputs into a precise 4 to 20 mA output signal. Operating with a maximum supply voltage of 35V DC and temperature operating limits from -40°C to 85°C, this transmitter supports a wide temperature input range from -200°C to 850°C, allowing for versatile application across demanding industrial environments.
The 5335A model supports virtually any thermocouple type, as well as 2-, 3- and 4-wire RTDs, linear resistance up to 700 ohms, and bipolar millivolt signals. It features an input sensor redundancy function, which maintains process availability and safety by switching to a secondary sensor if the primary sensor fails, with alerts sent via the industry-standard HART protocol for proactive maintenance scheduling.
Its robust construction with a compact 44 mm diameter and 20.2 mm depth allows DIN form B sensor head mounting, ideal for confined spaces. The transmitter is certified for use in hazardous areas under Ex and ATEX standards, with compliance to multiple international standards including EMC 2014/30/EU, IECEx KEM 10.0083X, SIL, INMETRO DEKRA, and DNV-GL marine platform certifications.
The device demonstrates superior immunity to electrical noise, tested against a 10 Vrms interference in the 15 Hz to 100 MHz frequency range, ensuring accurate measurements in electrically challenging environments. Runtime meters provide a valuable historical record of process temperature and ambient conditions, enhancing operational safety.
Typical applications include industrial process control, laboratory measurement, environmental monitoring, and automated manufacturing where precise and reliable temperature measurement is critical.
The device supports virtually any thermocouple and 2, 3 & 4-wire RTD sensors plus linear resistance up to 700 Ω. Input sensor redundancy ensures process availability by detecting primary sensor failures. Maximum supply voltage of 35V DC with operating temperatures from -40°C to 85°C.
Compact design with 44 mm diameter and 20.2 mm depth suitable for DIN form B sensor head mounting. Certified for hazardous environments with Ex, ATEX, IECEx, SIL, INMETRO, and DNV-GL approvals. High noise immunity tested up to 10 Vrms in the 15 Hz - 100 MHz frequency range.
Implements HART protocol for easy digital communication and maintenance. Runtime meters capture process and ambient temperature histories for operational insights.
