RS PRO 796-2034 miniature ceiling mounted PIR sensor offers automatic presence and absence detection ideal for energy-efficient lighting control in commercial and industrial environments such as offices, warehouses, and commercial spaces.

This surface mount sensor with dimensions 28mm diameter, 30mm width, and 30mm height operates at 230V AC, making it suitable for integration with a variety of lighting loads including incandescent, fluorescent, and compact fluorescent lamps. It supports basic, premium, and direct dimming models, with the direct dimming variant capable of controlling DSI or DALI digital dimming ballasts for advanced lighting management including daylight compensation.

The PIR sensor detects movement to switch the connected lighting load on and, when no occupancy is detected, the unit automatically switches off the load after an adjustable time-out period. An integral IR sensor allows remote control of output light levels and manual override via an optional IR handset (RS#7962097 required for setting). The sensitivity, lux threshold, and time settings can also be adjusted directly on the rear of the device.

Featuring an IP40 rating and Class 2 safety certification, the unit delivers reliable performance with secure installation using the included sensor head, power supply side mounting bracket, and flush ceiling holder, enabling unobtrusive flush mounting into ceiling tiles or solid ceilings.
