Lutron Anemometer AM-4201

This is a Lutron anemometer that I built from scratch using parts from other projects. This project was inspired by my friend's dad who has been building his own weather stations for years. He gave me some old parts he had laying around and told me what they were used for. I just put them together and added a few things like a LCD display, wind speed sensor, and a microcontroller. The anemometer measures wind speed and direction at a height of 1 meter above ground level. Wind speed is measured by a vane mounted on a shaft inside a housing. When the wind blows across the vane, it rotates the shaft and causes a magnet attached to the end of the shaft to move back and forth. A reed switch is triggered each time the magnet passes over it, causing a pulse to be sent to the microcontroller. The microcontroller then calculates the average wind speed based on the number of pulses received per second.
