Ambient Noise Monitoring

Ambient Noise Monitoring measures environmental noise levels for compliance. It includes monitoring of Leq, Lmax, and Lmin using sound level meters. The monitoring is conducted as per the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000 under the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986, in line with standards set by the Central Pollution Control Board. It supports regulatory compliance, EIA studies, and environmental audits. The data helps in planning mitigation measures and ensuring a healthier acoustic environment.

Scope of service: We measure ambient noise levels using calibrated sound level meters as per CPCB guidelines. Monitoring is done during day (6 am - 10 pm) and night (10 pm - 6 am) periods. We prepare Leq (Equivalent Sound Level) reports and compare them with permissible limits for industrial, commercial, residential, or silent zones as per the Noise Pollution Rules.

Process flow: Selection of monitoring locations at site boundary and sensitive receptors → Continuous noise monitoring over 24 hours or during specified periods → Data analysis to calculate Leq (day), Leq (night), and Ldn (day-night average) → Comparison with standards prescribed for the area zone → Preparation of an ambient noise monitoring report.
