Vibration Monitoring

Vibration Monitoring measures impacts from industrial and construction activities. It includes monitoring of PPV, frequency, and vibration levels. The monitoring is guided by standards under the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 and relevant CPCB guidelines, along with industry standards such as DGMS norms for mining and construction activities, it ensures compliance. It helps protect structures and reduce environmental impact.

What is the service: Monitoring of vibrations from industrial or construction activities.

Who needs it: Construction companies, industries, infrastructure projects.

Scope of service: We measure ground-borne vibrations generated by pile driving, blasting, heavy machinery, or traffic using seismographs or vibration meters. We assess Peak Particle Velocity (PPV) in three directions and compare it with damage criteria for nearby structures (residential, historical) as per standards like DIN 4150 or IS. This helps in mitigating nuisance and preventing structural damage.

Process flow: Pre-monitoring survey of nearby structures and setting of monitoring points → Installation of vibration sensors (geophones) at sensitive locations → Continuous monitoring during the vibration-generating activity → Data analysis to determine PPV and frequency → Comparison with regulatory or accepted damage threshold limits → Preparation of a vibration monitoring report with recommendations for control if limits are approached.
