Nordic Semiconductor NRF51-DK Bluetooth Smart BLE Development Kit is a professional development platform supporting Bluetooth Smart, ANT, and other 2.4 GHz wireless applications. It supports the nRF51822 and nRF51422 System-on-Chips, enabling a wide range of wireless application prototyping and development.

This kit features Over the Air (OTA) Device Firmware Upgrade (DFU) capability, allowing seamless firmware updates through smartphones, PCs, or tablets. The development kit is compatible with popular Nordic Software Development Toolchains including Keil, IAR, GCC, and rapid ARM mbed toolchains, facilitating diverse programming environments.

Designed for industrial and IoT use cases, it also functions as a Bluetooth Smart packet sniffer using Nordic nRF Sniffer software for data capture and analysis. The board includes multiple hardware interfaces like 4 user pushbuttons, 4 user LEDs, a micro USB connector with virtual COM port interface via UART, and a micro SMA antenna test socket for RF testing.

Debugging is facilitated by integrated Segger J-Link OB and ARM mbed CMSIS-DAP programmers. The kit supports Arduino Rev 3 Shields, expanding hardware customization possibilities, and comes with a holder for a CR2032 coin cell battery with compatibility for RS 597-201 or RS 457-4757 batteries.
