Hammond 1553TTBKBAT Black Flame Retardant ABS Handheld Enclosure with integral battery compartment features robust construction from flame retardant ABS plastic rated UL 94V-0. The enclosure provides IP54 ingress protection, shielding internal components against dust and splashing water, making it suitable for various industrial and commercial applications.
The ergonomic T-shape design includes soft-sided dark grey grips that enhance handheld comfort for instrument or mobile data system applications. The enclosure has recessed areas designed to accommodate membrane displays or keypads, increasing functional accessibility.
The integral battery compartment supports either four AA batteries or a single 9-volt PP3 battery, facilitating portable power needs. The enclosure is assembled using M3-0.5x18 mm Philips machine screws secured into factory-inserted integral brass bushings to provide long-lasting mechanical strength.
Inside, moulded PCB mounting bosses facilitate mounting of printed circuit boards securely within the top and bottom halves. Additionally, removable end panels on either one or both sides allow easy modification or machining as required for custom applications.
