RS PRO 796-2071 Microwave Ceiling Detector is a mains powered ceiling mounted presence detector that uses low power microwave radiation to detect motion and control lighting, heating, or ventilation loads automatically.

Designed for industrial, commercial, and office use, it provides long-range detection optimized for ceiling installations. Operating frequency is 50Hz with a temperature tolerance from -10°C to 35°C, making it suitable for varied environments.

The detector emits microwave signals and measures reflections from moving objects to accurately identify occupancy. When movement is detected, connected loads such as lights or HVAC systems are switched on, and they switch off after an adjustable timeout once the area is no longer occupied.

An integrated light level sensor further enhances energy savings by only switching on lighting when ambient natural light falls below predefined levels. The sturdy design includes an IP66-sealed /IP variant, providing water and dust resistance for demanding environments.
