Product Description

Microchip DM164138 LoRa Mote RN2483 is a Communication & Wireless Development Board operating at 915 MHz frequency, designed as a portable LoRaWAN Class A end-device for long-range wireless communication applications. It integrates the RN2483 LoRa modem module, enabling developers to quickly demonstrate the capabilities of LoRa technology in IoT scenarios.

The unit is battery powered by 2 AAA batteries, facilitating on-the-go telemetry and wireless sensor network communication. An OLED display provides real-time feedback on network connections, sensor values from the onboard ambient light sensor and MCP9700T thermistor, as well as incoming downlink messages and acknowledgments.

Connectivity to a host computer is enabled via a USB Mini-B connector with an onboard USB-to-UART bridge, simplifying configuration and control through ASCII command sets. The board features a high-frequency SMA antenna connector at 868 MHz and a separate 433 MHz low-frequency antenna test point for wireless experimentation.

The Development Board complies with ISO 9001:2000 and ISO/TS-16949:2009 standards, ensuring reliable manufacturing quality. It is suitable for industrial, laboratory, and academic use cases, including IoT development, wireless sensor networks, and telemetry system prototyping.

The device supports LoRaWAN protocol stack for interoperability with compliant gateways and infrastructure. Onboard sensors provide telemetry data transmission on user-defined schedules or on-demand. Menu navigation switches and indicator LEDs assist in user interaction and status monitoring.

The RN2483 868 MHz LoRa Mote Development Node facilitates rapid wireless IoT application development. Power can alternatively be supplied via through-hole connectors if battery operation is not preferred.

Set contains the RN2483 development node, SMA antenna, and USB cable. Batteries are not included. This product is ideal for developers and engineers working on LoRa technology projects requiring a robust, portable wireless sensor node prototype.
