Goodfellow 158-3196 machinable glass ceramic ceramic sheet is a high-performance engineering material designed for precision component manufacture using standard metalworking tools. The sheet measures 100 mm by 100 mm with a thickness of 10 mm, making it versatile for various industrial applications requiring thermal resistance and mechanical strength.
Constructed from Macor® machinable glass ceramic, the sheet offers excellent thermal conductivity at 1.46 W/mK and operates continuously at temperatures up to 800°C, with a maximum no load temperature of 1000°C. The white ceramic material is non-porous, with 0% water absorption, ensuring stability and durability in various manufacturing and laboratory environments.
This ceramic exhibits a high compressive strength of 35 kg/mm² and fracture toughness of 1.53 MPa, providing resistance to mechanical stresses commonly encountered in industrial and laboratory settings. Its hardness measures A 48 Rockwell, contributing to wear resistance while maintaining machinability.
Users can achieve machining tolerances close to 0.013 mm, allowing for the fabrication of precision components without the need for post-firing treatments. The material's excellent sealing and joining ability enable it to be assembled with itself or other materials effectively.
This ceramic sheet is ideal for use in industrial tooling, mechanical hardware, laboratory instruments, and construction components requiring high precision, thermal stability, and mechanical durability. The product is especially valuable in environments demanding non-wetting surfaces and resistance to deformation.
Made from Macor® machinable glass ceramic designed for precision machining. Dimensions: 100 mm length, 100 mm width, 10 mm thickness, white color. Thermally stable up to 800°C continuous operation and 1000°C maximum no load temperature.
High compressive strength (35 kg/mm²) and fracture toughness (1.53 MPa) ensure durability. Non-porous with zero water absorption enhances resistance to environmental factors. Machinable with ordinary metalworking tools with tolerances approaching 0.013 mm.
Can be sealed and joined to itself and other materials effectively. Suitable for industrial, laboratory, construction, and manufacturing applications. Trial pack option available with rods and bars for preliminary evaluation.
