Microchip LAN9303-ABZJ is a compact 3-port 10/100 Mbps managed Ethernet switch integrated circuit designed for network switching applications. It operates at a supply voltage of 3.3 V and comes in a small 56-pin QFN package measuring 8 mm by 8 mm with a 1 mm height, suitable for modern surface-mount technology assemblies.

This switch IC complies with IEEE 802.3 standards and supports both full duplex and half duplex communication modes, providing versatile network compatibility. It incorporates internal loopback mode to facilitate hardware diagnostics and troubleshooting.

Advanced network management features include per-port IEEE 802.1Q VLAN support with up to 16 VLAN groups, IGMP v1/v2 monitoring for efficient multicast packet filtering, and 42 per-port MIB counters to enable detailed network management analytics. The Turbo MII interface supports data rates up to 200 Mbps for enhanced network throughput.

Robust design includes integrated ±8kV (contact) and ±15kV (air) Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protection per port, ensuring reliable operation in industrial and commercial environments.
