RS PRO 282-0187 Black POM Plastic Sheet measuring 500 mm x 300 mm x 10 mm is an engineering thermoplastic sheet manufactured in Germany. Constructed from polyoxymethylene (POM-C Acetal), this sheet combines toughness with excellent chemical and mechanical properties for demanding industrial uses.

POM-C is a copolymer distinguished by its high crystallinity, resulting in superior rigidity and hardness, as well as excellent wear resistance. The black coloring improves UV protection. This sheet has a density of 1.41 g/cm³ and a tensile strength of 55 MPa, making it suitable for mechanical and electrical engineering applications that require durable, dimensionally stable parts.

With a maximum operating temperature of 100°C and UL94 HB flammability rating, this solid plastic sheet resists hot water and various solvents including dilute acids and cleaning agents. Its low water absorption (0.5%) and thermal conductivity of 0.17 W/mK further enhance its versatility.

The material is difficult to bond but easily welded and offers very good electrical insulation, ideal for precision parts such as friction bearings, gears, tool supports, housing components, rollers, plugs, insulators, agitators, and seals.

The sheet is 500 mm long, 300 mm wide, and 10 mm thick with a hardness of M 86 Rockwell. Impact strength is measured at 12 kJ/m², confirming high durability. It is suitable for machining and polishing to precise dimensions required in manufacturing.
