MNT Enviro Tech Automatic Water Softener are plumbed into the home's water supply and work by eliminating dissolved minerals through a process called ion exchange. Inside each water softener is a mineral tank that is filled with small plastic beads (also known as resin) that are negatively charged. A Water Softener is a filtration system that works to remove high concentrations of calcium and magnesium that cause hard water. When water flows through a Water Softener, the system filters out these hard water minerals and the softened water then leaves the water softening system to flow through plumbing.
