Solar Data Monitoring System The solar radiation sensor measures the amount of sunlight that hits the ground. This data can then be used to determine how much light the plant needs at any given time. The sensor is placed near the top of the canopy where it receives the maximum amount of sun.The temperature sensor measures the ambient air temperature around the plant. This information helps the grower know if the plant is receiving enough heat from the sun. If the air temperature drops below 60 degrees F, the lights should be turned on.
