Sewage treatment plants are used to remove waste water from homes, businesses and industries. They can be found in every city and town across the country. The sewage treatment plant will take out any solid waste like food scraps, paper, plastic, etc. and then it will separate the liquid waste into two different tanks. One tank contains the black water which is mostly made up of toilet waste and the other tank contains the grey water which is mainly made up of kitchen waste. Both types of waste water are then sent through a series of pipes to a central location where they are treated before being released back into the environment.
