Commercial RO plant can be used as an alternative to municipal water supply system. The plant consists of two parts: 1. RO unit 2. Water tank. The RO unit is made up of three main components: 1. Filter cartridge 2. Reverse osmosis membrane 3. Pressure vessel. The filter cartridge filters out impurities like iron, manganese, calcium, magnesium etc. The pressure vessel is where the filtered water is stored. The reverse osmosis membrane removes dissolved solids such as salt, chlorine, nitrates, phosphates etc. The purified water is then pumped into the storage tank.
