Effluent & Sewage Water Treatment Plant

Effluent water treatment plants are used to treat wastewater before it is released into a body of water. Sewage treatment plants use a process called primary treatment to remove organic matter and solids from the wastewater. This reduces the volume of the wastewater by about 80%. Secondary treatment removes any remaining organic matter and suspended solids from the wastewater. The secondary treatment process can also be used to remove some metals, nitrates, and phosphates from the wastewater. Primary treatment is typically a process that uses mechanical processes such as settling and sedimentation to remove the solids and other particles. Secondary treatment typically involves the use of chemicals such as chlorine or ozone to remove organic matter.
