Product Details

Desalination is the process of removing mineral salts from water using ion exchange processes. Demineralized water, also called deionized water, is water from which mineral ions have been removed. Mineral ions, such as cations such as sodium, calcium, iron, and copper, and anions such as chloride, sulfate, and nitrate, are common ions present in water. Deionization is a physical process that uses specially manufactured ion exchange resins to create ion exchange sites to replace inorganic salts in water with water, thereby forming H+ and OH ions. Since most water contaminants are dissolved salts, deionization generally produces high-purity water similar to distilled water, and the process is rapid and non-calcifying. Desalination technology is a proven process for treating water. The DM water system produces mineral-free water based on the principles of ion exchange, degassing and polishing. Demineralized water systems are widely used in the steam, power, process, and cooling sectors.
