The colorimetric method is based on the adaptation of ASTM Manual of Water and Environmental Technology, D1687-92, utilizing the diphenylcarbohydrazide method. When the reagent reacts with chromium VI, a purple tint develops in the test sample, enabling quantitative measurement through a compatible photometer.
