STMicroelectronics STEVAL-CTM009V1 evaluation kit is a comprehensive motor control development kit designed for industrial motor control applications leveraging the advanced STripFET™ F7 technology power MOSFETs: STH310N10F7 and STH315N10F7. These 100 V MOSFETs are optimized for low voltage operations up to 48 V and high current scenarios such as forklifts, golf carts, and power tools.
The kit integrates four distinct boards: STEVAL-CTM004V1, STEVAL-CTM005V1, STEVAL-CTM006V1, and STEVAL-CTM008V1, which assemble together to configure an inverter power stage capable of driving three-phase motors efficiently and reliably.
The STEVAL-CTM004V1 power board is constructed with an insulated metal substrate (IMS) enhancing thermal management and includes NTC thermistors for thermal protection. Additionally, each MOSFET benefits from decoupling gate resistors ensuring stable operations. All power MOSFETs are mounted in ST's H²PAK-6 package, providing robust electrical and mechanical performance.
The driver stage is based on the STEVAL-CTM006V1 board, which incorporates L6491 high current gate drivers capable of driving the power MOSFETs with integrated comparator circuits for fault protection, safeguarding the system in challenging environments.
