RS PRO 832-0494 3D Printer Filament is a premium quality 2.85 mm diameter natural Polyvinyl Chloride filament designed specifically for Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) 3D printing technology with a weight of 500 grams. It serves primarily as a support material for dual extrusion 3D printers and offers excellent adhesion, high tensile strength, and flexibility.
The filament is water soluble, allowing for easy removal of supports, enhancing the printing of intricate geometries. The filament’s printing maximum temperature is 205°C, with a melting point of 163°C and a density of 0.75 g/cm³. It is odourless, non-toxic, and biodegradable, making it safe for use around humans, animals, and the environment.
This natural polyvinyl chloride filament is recommended to be used with PLA as the primary filament, as ABS’s bed temperature may exceed the glass transition temperature of the support material. For optimal adhesion, use washable surface treatments like 3DLAC or dissolved PVA applied to the print bed. It is crucial to avoid leaving the filament in a nozzle heated at or above 180°C for more than 5 minutes to prevent nozzle blockage.
The product must be stored in sealed packaging with active desiccants to prevent moisture absorption which can degrade print quality. Damp filament should be dried at 50-55°C for 8-12 hours before use.
PVA filament also finds common industrial use beyond 3D printing in paper manufacturing, adhesives, dissolvable packaging, and textiles. This filament is made in Spain, assuring adherence to high manufacturing standards.
Compatible with dual extrusion 3D printers for enhanced printing flexibility. Dissolvable in water, making it an excellent support material. Recommended printing maximum temperature is 205°C for optimal results. Odourless, non-toxic and biodegradable, safe for humans and the environment.
Density of filament is 0.75g/cm³ with melting temperature at 163°C. Damp filament can be dried at 50-55°C for 8-12 hours to maintain quality. Suitable as support material particularly when used with PLA primary filament.
Perfect for creating water-soluble moulds and intricate 3D print supports. Must be stored in sealed bags with desiccants to prevent moisture absorption.
