Product Description
TE Connectivity 4-643814-2 is a 12-way female IDC connector designed for cable mounting in a single row with a 2.54mm pitch. Operating at a voltage of 250V AC and current capacity of 5A, this connector incorporates copper contacts plated with tin over nickel for enhanced electrical performance and corrosion resistance.
The nylon housing is shrouded and features moulded ribs to prevent reverse mating, along with a friction lock mechanism to ensure a secure mating connection. It is end-to-end stackable and includes polarizing tabs for precise alignment. This product supports operating temperatures ranging from -55°C to 105°C, making it suitable for demanding industrial environments.
Using insulation displacement contact (IDC) technology, the connector enables one-step assembly without the requirement to strip wires, which reduces labour and manufacturing time. The contacts are lubricated to protect against fretting corrosion, increasing reliability over time.
This connector series, MTA-100, supports mass termination of wires with ease, accommodating 28 AWG to 22 AWG discrete wire or notched ribbon cable.
