Product Description

Kitronik 5672 BBC Micro:bit Add-on ZIP Halo HD is an advanced expansion board designed for the BBC Micro:bit, loaded with essential electronics components to enhance interactive and educational STEM projects. It features 60 individually addressable full colour ZIP LEDs, enabling rich and dynamic lighting patterns controlled directly by the micro:bit.

The board incorporates a MEMS microphone which provides sensitive audio detection capability, ideal for sound-triggered projects and experiments. Alongside the microphone is a piezo buzzer that can generate various tones and sounds for alarms or interactive feedback.

For precise timekeeping, the board includes an onboard real time clock (RTC) controlled over standard I2C lines from the micro:bit, enabling timed events and scheduling in applications.

The P1 and P2 connectors are broken out to a standard 0.1" pitch footprint, allowing easy integration with other add-ons and sensors, making the board highly versatile. The dual M3 mounting holes enhance mechanical stability when installing the board in enclosures or prototypes.

This add-on board is ideal for educational, prototyping, and development environments requiring enhanced visual, audio, and clock functionalities with the BBC Micro:bit platform. Note that the BBC Micro:bit itself is not included with this product.
