Like the heavy-media vessels, Heavy-media Cyclones also are designed to clean coal and minerals based on their density differences. Using finely ground magnetite and water as the media to create a buoyancy effect for gravimetric separation, the Heavy-media Cyclone forces the lighter solids to its centre, where the slurry transports them upward and through the vortex finder. The dense mineral matter spirals downward toward the apex and exits through that orifice.

KREBS Oil & Gas Desanding Cyclones Our Desanding Cyclones can be placed at several locations in the production train to protect downstream equipment. Our gMAX technology produces finer and sharper separation results Our multiphase desanding cyclones will remove sand from combined gas/liquid flows with gas flows up to 100%. They work within several locations in the production train to protect downstream equipment. When installed upstream of the production choke, these multiphase desanding units are called wellhead desanders. Models that operate downstream from the choke are known as wellstream desanders
