ARTESIS E-PCM monitors the condition of the generator and its prime mover and effectively uses the generator itself as an advanced converter. It uses advanced technology developed by NASA to enable automated setup and troubleshooting with minimal user intervention. It is easier to use and cheaper than traditional systems. e-PCM can be applied to a very wide range of equipment such as turbine generators, diesel generators and wind turbines, and is especially useful for equipment in inaccessible or dangerous environments.How does it work?e-PCM creates digital twins for generators and prime movers such as wind turbines. Digital twins are set up during the self-learning operation phase. In this phase, three voltages and three currents are continuously measured and processed using a system identification algorithm. The system identification algorithm determines model parameters under a wide range of operating conditions. When either the generator or the prime mover begins to fail, it affects the current waveform and causes the actual system to behave differently than the model system. This allows e-PCM to use the alternator as a sensor that can detect both alternator and motor failure. e-PCM continuously compares the model parameters with the parameters of the reference model.
