Gas Chromatograph for Laboratory Use

Gas chromatography is an analytical technique used to separate gas components based on their physical properties such as size or polarity. The instrument consists of a column through which the sample passes, a detector, and a computer. The sample is injected into the column where it travels until it reaches the end of the column. At the end of the column there are two detectors. One detects the compounds that have passed through the column and the second detects any compounds that may be present in the sample but did not pass through the column. The data collected is then analyzed using software. This process can take hours or days depending on the number of samples and the complexity of the analysis
