Hammond 1550WE natural, unpainted aluminium enclosure is a robust, watertight die cast enclosure designed for general purpose industrial and electrical applications. Made from a rugged die cast aluminium alloy, it is both tough and easy to machine, making it ideal for electronic instrument housing and control equipment protection.

The enclosure features a lap joint construction that ensures excellent sealing against dust and splashing water, supporting an IP66 ingress protection rating. Its IK08 impact rating provides reliable resistance to mechanical impacts, enhancing durability in demanding environments.

Finished in a natural vibrant surface without paint, this enclosure prevents sharp edges and delivers smooth handling characteristics. The watertight sealing is achieved using silicone and EVA foam gaskets, maintaining protection against environmental contaminants.

The enclosure does not inherently provide EMI/RFI shielding; improved shielding is available when water-tight gaskets are not installed due to lap joint design. It is secured with M3.5 x 0.6 x 12 mm stainless steel Phillips head screws, inserted into factory tapped holes for secure assembly.
