RS PRO 494-102 Non-Corrosive Silicone Sealant is a high-quality white paste supplied in a 310 ml cartridge. This one-component silicone elastomer cures at room temperature by moisture crosslinking to form a flexible and resilient silicone rubber. Its non-corrosive nature makes it suitable for application on sensitive metals such as copper and its alloys, where traditional acetoxy silicone sealants would cause corrosion due to acid release. The low odour emission enhances working conditions compared to acetoxy grades.

The sealant exhibits excellent adhesion properties to a wide variety of substrates except PTFE and polyethylene, making it versatile for many industrial uses. It maintains chemical resistance and physical integrity over a broad operating temperature range from -40°C to 150°C, suitable for demanding environments including semiconductor manufacturing and electronics assembly.

Typical applications include protection of semiconductor junctions, finishing protection on delicate assemblies, sealing and insulating copper-clad devices, and other precision sealing tasks in mechanical, electronics, and laboratory settings. It cures with a flexible rubbery texture without evolving corrosive volatiles such as acetic acid or amines, ensuring long-term stability and reliability.

The product is not safe for food processing environments, so it should be used in industrial and commercial applications only. It exceeds British Standard BS5713 for sealant performance. The 310 ml cartridge packaging allows controlled dispensing for ease of use in workshops and production lines.

The sealant is one-component, thixotropic paste form for accurate application. Cure time is approximately 7 days for full crosslinking at room temperature. Meets FDA 177.2600, UL 94 HB, and MIL-A-46146 approvals and standards.

Operating temperature range from -40°C minimum to 150°C maximum. Specific gravity of 1.43 provides consistent material density.
