TE Connectivity SCL-1/8-0 heat shrink tubing is a semi-rigid polyolefin product designed for moisture proof encapsulation of electrical connections such as wire splices and electronic components. With a sleeve diameter of 3.2 mm and a length of 300 mm, this tubing accommodates a wide range of electrical applications by shrinking to approximately 40% of its original diameter thanks to a 2.5:1 shrink ratio.

The outer wall shrinks when heated above 135°C, while the inner wall melts at 100°C to flow into crevices, thereby providing a tough, homogenous, and rigid seal after cooling. This construction gives excellent dielectric strength ranging from 240 to 410 kV/cm, depending on wall thickness.

Manufactured from radiation cross-linked polyolefins, the black tubing is resistant to many solvents and chemicals and is non-corrosive to electrical joints. It does not have flame retardant or halogen-free properties.

The SCL series complies with quality and safety standards including AMS-DTL 23053/4 Class 1 and UL approvals, making it reliable for various industrial, electrical, and electronics applications.
