Workplace Noise Monitoring

Workplace Noise Monitoring measures employee exposure to noise levels. It includes monitoring using sound meters and exposure analysis. It helps identify high-noise areas and sources requiring control measures. The monitoring is guided by the Factories Act, 1948 and standards under the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986, along with guidelines from the Central Pollution Control Board and occupational safety norms. Aligned with safety regulations and CPCB guidelines, it ensures compliance. It helps protect worker health and control noise risks.

Scope of service: We assess occupational noise exposure to protect worker hearing. Using personal noise dosimeters worn by workers or area measurements, we determine the 8-hour Time-Weighted Average (TWA) noise exposure and the noise dose. We identify areas where exposure exceeds 85 dB(A) (action level) and recommend engineering controls or hearing protection programs.

Process flow: Identification of noisy areas and job classifications → Calibration and deployment of personal noise dosimeters on workers → Collection of full-shift noise exposure data → Analysis to calculate TWA and noise dose (%) → Preparation of a workplace noise assessment report identifying high-risk areas and recommending control measures as per Factory Act guidelines.
