Product Description

This innovation makes it possible to get automatic observations of the Cloud Cover Factor, CCF 24 hours a day. It consists of a daytime unit that observes the sky in 4 directions in parts of the solar spectrum, a nighttime unit that observes the sky in the thermal infrared spectrum, and a microcomputer for evaluating the signals. The bearing principle at nighttime is not the same as that during daytime. At nighttime, the difference between the incoming and outgoing thermal infrared radiation is measured using a type of bolometer. In the daytime, the sky is observed using 4 silicon photodetectors in different parts of the sky. The exact concept is still our secret but we can say that the calculations for calculating the cloud cover factor are made in a microcomputer. The microcomputer also calculates when the output is taken from the night          ( infrared ) information or from the daytime ( shortwave ) information.

Frequently Asked Questions

The output range is an analog signal from 0 to 5V, corresponding to a Cloud Cover Factor (CCF) of 0 to 100%.

It requires a 12 Volt DC power supply for operation.

The typical accuracy for the Cloud Cover Factor output is 0.2.

The operating temperature range is from -20 to +50 degrees Celsius.

It can be mounted using M6 screws in four channels located in the lower part of the box, arranged in a rectangle measuring 82 by 204 mm.

The current consumption is about 20 mA for electronics and approximately 60 mA for heating.

The approximate size of the box is 22129 cm, with an additional height of about 5 cm for the plastic dome.

The detector consists of a daytime unit, a nighttime unit, and a microcomputer for evaluating signals.

The microcomputer calculates the Cloud Cover Factor and determines whether to use nighttime infrared information or daytime shortwave information for output.

This model is intended for weather monitoring and meteorological applications, providing data on cloud cover.
