The process of steel production generates large amounts of wastewater that is contaminated with heavy metals and other hazardous substances. The Effluent Water Treatment Plant is designed to remove these substances before the water is released into the environment. The plant consists of a pump, a settling tank, a skimmer, and a filter, which can be configured to meet the needs of the individual customer. The pump sends the wastewater to the settling tank, where it is mixed with a sludge that coats the inside of the tank. The sludge sinks to the bottom and the wastewater floats to the top. The skimmer removes the floating material from the top of the tank and the filter removes any remaining impurities. This system can be installed at a customer's site and connected to their wastewater discharge.
