Peak Instruments S-100 Intelligent Stirrer uses a rotating magnetic field to stir a non-magnetic liquid in a container. The rotating field is created by a magnet mounted on the stirrer underneath the container. As the magnet rotates, it creates a rotating magnetic field that extends into the liquid. A magnetic stirrer or magnetic mixer is a laboratory device that employs a rotating magnetic field to cause a stir bar(also called "flea") immersed in a liquid to spin very quickly, thus stirring it. It consists of several components: an electric motor with a stirring shaft and a base that holds the motor and the stirring impeller
