Steel magnet separators are used to separate ferrous materials such as steel scrap or iron ore from nonferrous materials like copper, aluminum, brass, lead, zinc, tin, etc. The magnetic force of the magnets attracts the ferrous materials and allows them to be separated from the nonferrous materials. The process can be automated using a machine called a magnet separator.
