| RS PRO 1.75 mm Black CARBON-P 3D Printer Filament, 1 kgBrand | RS PRO |
RS PRO 3D Printer Filament model 910-7046 features a 1.75 mm diameter black CARBON-P composite filament specifically designed for fused deposition modelling (FDM) 3D printers. This premium PETG-based filament is reinforced with 20% carbon fiber, ensuring high stiffness and strength comparable to aluminium at a fraction of the weight, ideal for manufacture of radio control (RC) parts and functional prototypes.
The filament boasts increased impact and heat resistance with a heat deflection temperature (HDT) up to 80°C, delivering enhanced performance for demanding printing applications. It produces parts with a matte surface finish and exhibits excellent water resistance, making it suitable for both indoor and certain outdoor applications.
Printing temperature is recommended within a nozzle range of 210°C to 250°C, with a maximum rated printing temperature of 235°C. Due to the abrasive nature of the carbon fibers, usage of a hardened steel nozzle is advised to prevent premature wear on brass nozzles. CARBON-P filament can be printed without a heated bed, although a heated bed temperature of 35 to 60°C is recommended to improve adhesion and print quality.
The raw material, Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol (PETG), provides a less brittle alternative to conventional filaments, allowing for easier extrusion and higher reliability throughout the printing process.
For optimal material preservation, storage conditions are advised to remain cool and dry between 15°C and 25°C and shielded from UV exposure to extend shelf life. Compatible with common desktop FDM 3D printers. Excellent stiffness and minimal deflection due to carbon fiber reinforcement.
Improved impact and heat resistance up to 80°C HDT. Water-resistant with a durable matte finish. Requires hardened steel nozzle due to abrasive filament. Can be printed without heated bed; recommended bed temperature 35-60°C.
Store in cool, dry conditions away from UV light.
This filament is manufactured in Spain and represents RS PRO’s commitment to delivering high-quality materials designed for a broad range of engineering, prototyping, and manufacturing tasks. It is an excellent choice for engineers seeking a lightweight, durable alternative to metallic parts while harnessing the flexibility of 3D printing technology.
