1. Sun rays fall on solar panels which are installed at the rooftop. This causes PV solar panels to excite flow of electrons which generates DC electricity as solar power.

2. The PV solar panels are connected to Solar Power Conditioning Unit (PCU) or Inverter which converts DC electricity generated by solar panels into AC electricity. This AC electricity then goes to the main power outlet of the building and all appliances run directly on solar.

3. Simultaneously, solar power also reaches the batteries again via the solar PCU. The solar PCU has a built-in solar charge controller which regulates the current and voltage that reaches the batteries. It ensures that regulated amount of current reaches so that they dont get overcharged.

4. In the evening or in the absence of sun the solar PCU uses the energy stored in batteries to power all connected load such as lights, fans, TV, fridge, AC, heater, blenders etc.

Solar power plant is based on the conversion of sunlight into electricity, either directly using photovoltaic (PV) and tracking systems to focus a large area of sunlight into a small beam. In electricity, off-grid can be stand alone systems or mini-grids typically to provide a smaller community with electricity. Off-grid electrification is an approach to access electricity used in countries and areas with little access to electricity, due to scattered or distant population. In situations where grid parity has been reached, it becomes cheaper to generate one's own electricity rather than purchasing it from the grid.
